Snapshot of the Consensus Meeting event with LAMSAMA Assessors

Depok, LAMSAMA – Following the ongoing accreditation process, the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) recently held a consensus meeting with assessors to ensure a smooth progression of the Accreditation Sufficiency Assessment (AK), Field Assessment (AL), and validation processes. The meeting, conducted online on Friday (September 9), aimed to align perceptions and enhance understanding among the participants.

During the event, various topics were covered to provide updates on LAMSAMA policies, LAMSAMA instruments, the SALAM LAMSAMA system, the code of ethics for assessors and validators, as well as the financial system of LAMSAMA.

Opening the event, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs. Ir. Mitra Djamal, IPU, from the LAMSAMA Executive Board, shared insights into the progress of LAMSAMA’s policies. He emphasized that several accreditation documents have already been received, and continuous efforts will be made to improve and enhance them over time.

“We have made significant improvements. For instance, the LAMSAMA website for general information can be accessed at lamsama.or.id, and we have a dedicated website for accreditation called SALAM. The accreditation instruments have been extensively developed and improved, along with other aspects,” Mitra explained.

During the consensus meeting, discussions and inputs were encouraged to address various aspects and ensure the effective functioning of the LAMSAMA system.

The session continued with Prof. Drs. Roto, M.Eng., Ph.D., and Dr. Intan Detiena Muchtadi providing in-depth explanations of the LAMSAMA instruments. They discussed topics such as guidelines for filling out the main performance indicator form, the preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report (LED), and more.

“In terms of the structure of the Assessment Results Report (LHA) document, we aim to adopt best practices from institutions like BAN-PT as well as international standards like ASIIN or RSC,” Roto stated, followed by an explanation of the assessment process related to program profiles, UPPS facilities, criteria notes, and special considerations for UPPS or program development.

Regarding the SALAM LAMSAMA system, Dr. Muhamad Abdulkadir Martoprawiro highlighted that the current SALAM system has surpassed the initial plans.

“In addition to the SALAM website, we also have the general LAMSAMA website, which is crucial for accessing program-related information,” Abdulkadir emphasized.

The LAMSAMA website provides access to information such as LKPS, LKPS tables, important regulations, and an overview of the accreditation process’s progress.

Abdulkadir also mentioned that LAMSAMA offers a trial website, ujicoba.lamsama.or.id, for exploration and experimentation without disrupting the existing system.

The code of ethics for assessors and validators was another important aspect covered during the meeting. Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih Nurjayadi, M.Si., provided valuable insights into the do’s and don’ts during the accreditation process.

Lastly, Dr. Dra. Melania Suweni Muntini presented information about the LAMSAMA Financial System.

“LAMSAMA has extended the accreditation validity period until December 31, 2022. This flexibility and allowance are expected to provide programs with ample time to prepare for accreditation,” she noted. Melania also explained that various factors are considered when determining accreditation fees, with the final decision resting with the government.

Currently, there are 44 study programs whose accreditation will expire in 2022, but only 11 of them have finalized their submissions to LAMSAMA.

Through this consensus meeting, LAMSAMA aims to ensure a successful implementation of the Accreditation Sufficiency Assessment (AK), Field Assessment (AL), and the accreditation validation process by its assessors. It is expected that the assessors will fulfill their duties and responsibilities with professionalism and excellence.
