Depok, LAMSAMA – The Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) begins 2024 by organizing the Prospective Assessor Training 2024. This training is a crucial step in maintaining the quality of higher education, particularly in the fields of natural sciences and formal sciences. The event spans several days, commencing on February 2nd and running until February 12th, 2024.
Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, Chairman of the LAMSAMA Accreditation Council, emphasized the importance of assessors in maintaining the quality of higher education in Indonesia. “LAMSAMA is built by all parties, and we are continuously striving to uphold educational standards. I hope the dedication of the training participants can provide mutually beneficial outcomes,” he said.
The main objective of this training is to ensure the fulfillment of mandates outlined in the relevant laws regarding higher education quality that is broader, more inclusive, and produces quality human resources for the advancement of Indonesia. Prof. Abdul Haris also expressed gratitude to all LAMSAMA officials for their efforts in quality assurance.

Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih Nurjayadi, M.Si., explained the profile of LAMSAMA assessor candidates recruited from various state universities, including UI, UGM, ITB, IPB, ITS, UNHAS, and UB. A total of 31 assessor candidates were recruited, with a focus on study programs in the fields of biology (7 assessor candidates), physics (6 assessor candidates), chemistry (8 assessor candidates), and mathematics (10 assessor candidates). “We hope these assessor candidates can contribute effectively to the LAMSAMA assessment process in 2024,” she hoped.
This time, the recruitment of assessors is limited due to LAMSAMA’s need for assessors from BH-HEIs related to the transition from the old instrument to the new instrument with an automated system. Thus, assessors are recruited based on recommendations.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs. Ir. Mitra Djamal, IPU. ASEAN Eng., Executive Director of LAMSAMA, explained the organizational structure of LAMSAMA, its vision, mission, objectives, and the scope of study programs. He also outlined the accreditation status and automation processes to be implemented, including the four accreditation statuses: not accredited, accredited, superior accredited, and internationally accredited, along with their respective automation processes.

The event also included a pre-test for assessor candidates and discussions on LAMSAMA policies related to Ministerial Regulation No. 53 of 2023 by Prof. Mitra and Dr. Melania Suweni Muntini, M.T. In addition, LAMSAMA accreditation instruments for D3-S3, including the Program Study Performance Report (LKPS) document, were presented by Prof. Dr. Muktiningsih Nurjayadi, M.Si., and the Self-Evaluation Report (LED) document by Prof. Dr. Muchtadi Intan Detiena, S.Si., M.Si., while the LAMSAMA IT system was also discussed in the training session by Drs. Muhamad Abdulkadir Martoprawiro, M.S, Ph.D.

The training continued on February 5th with topics related to the assessment mechanisms of LKPS and LED LAMSAMA 1.0 criteria 1-3, as well as the assessment mechanism of criteria 9 and LAMSAMA 1.0 supplements. On February 6th, the topics to be discussed will include the assessment mechanism of criteria 6, development, criteria 4-5, and 7-8, as well as a comprehensive discussion and technical explanation of the accreditation mock-up assessment.
From February 7th to 9th, assessor candidates will conduct mock-up accreditation assessments. The event will conclude with a post-test on February 12th.
This training is expected to enhance the quality of LAMSAMA assessors and positively contribute to maintaining the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
