Depok, LAMSAMA – Following the latest progress report from the Independent Accreditation Institution, Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA), it was reported to the Directorate of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology on Friday (July 15).

The report submitted by LAMSAMA includes updates on the LAMSAMA devices, both main and supporting devices that are already in place. These devices consist of a website accessible at https://lamsama.or.id and the LAMSAMA Accreditation System (SALAM) application based on the website at https://sa.lamsama.or.id.

Moreover, the report also covers the accreditation instruments for diploma programs (D3), Applied Bachelor’s (D4), undergraduate (S1), postgraduate (S2), and doctoral (S3) programs, which can be accessed through the website. It also includes information on the accreditation assessors, covering nearly all fields of study.

“The operation of the LAMSAMA office at the Multidisciplinary Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI, 5th Floor, Depok, has also been reported,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs. Ir. Mitra Djamal, IPU, Chairman of the Executive Board of LAMSAMA.

The second part of the report pertains to the status of program proposals and/or extended program accreditation requests, the creation of SALAM accounts, and the submission of accreditations through SALAM.

Additionally, 39 study programs that have applied for accreditation extension have been reported. LAMSAMA has issued Decisions on the Extension of Program Accreditation, in accordance with LAMSAMA’s transitional decision number 020/SK/P/LAMSAMA/III/2020.

Regarding SALAM account creation, 35 UPPS (Study Program Managing Units) have submitted requests, and the accreditation submission through SALAM is still in the early stage.

Despite the progress made by LAMSAMA, there are some challenges, such as incomplete information dissemination, resulting in missed information by study programs, program managing units, and higher education institutions.

“We have addressed these challenges by disseminating information through relevant stakeholders, organizing dissemination activities for study programs, and spreading information through social media,” Mitra added.

LAMSAMA has also provided communication facilities through the email address sekretariat@lamsama.or.id or by contacting LAMSAMA’s designated contact person, Vinanda, at 0812-9673-3838, for any difficulties or questions related to accreditation in LAMSAMA.

Moving forward, LAMSAMA will continue to develop itself by completing the supplementary materials for study programs that are not yet available, recruiting assessors whose expertise aligns with the programs to be accredited, and requesting the government to establish the conversion fee for international accreditation to LAMSAMA accreditation.
