Makassar, LAMSAMA<\/strong> \u2014 The Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) and the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region IX have strengthened their commitment to advancing higher education quality through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Synergy in Quality Enhancement and Accreditation of Study Programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s Scope. The agreement was signed on Friday, August 21, at the LLDIKTI Region IX Hall in Makassar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Melania Suweni Muntini, M.T., Deputy Director for Resources and Cooperation at LAMSAMA, and Prof. dr. Budu, Ph.D., Sp.M(K)., M.MedEd., Head of LLDIKTI Region IX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership represents a strategic step toward strengthening institutional collaboration in external quality assurance, quality enhancement, and the accreditation of study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s scope across higher education institutions under the jurisdiction of LLDIKTI Region IX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement will remain in effect for five years from the date of signing and will serve as the foundation for the implementation of structured, measurable, documented, and sustainable quality enhancement and accreditation initiatives. The technical implementation of the MoU will be further detailed in a Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening Accreditation Readiness and Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this partnership, LAMSAMA and LLDIKTI Region IX will work together to strengthen external quality assurance systems and improve the accreditation outcomes of study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s scope. The collaboration is also driven by the potential of study programs across the LLDIKTI Region IX area to further strengthen their accreditation readiness and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership will encompass a range of strategic initiatives, including the dissemination of LAMSAMA\u2019s accreditation policies and instruments, mapping quality baselines and accreditation status, conducting self-assessments<\/em>, providing technical assistance and consultation, and strengthening the capacity of internal quality assurance systems within higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative will support both study programs that currently hold accredited status and those that are not yet accredited. Assistance in conducting self-assessments<\/em>, undertaking gap analyses<\/em>, and developing follow-up action plans will be provided as part of efforts to strengthen institutional and study program readiness for quality improvement and accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Melania Suweni Muntini, M.T., said the partnership represents an important part of the two institutions\u2019 efforts to build a more structured and sustainable quality enhancement ecosystem across the LLDIKTI Region IX area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis partnership is an important step in strengthening the synergy between LAMSAMA and LLDIKTI Region IX in fostering a culture of quality across higher education institutions. Our goal is not only to ensure that study programs are well prepared for the accreditation process, but also to encourage accreditation to become an integral part of continuous quality improvement. Through systematic mapping, self-assessment, targeted assistance, and well-defined follow-up actions, we hope that more study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s scope will strengthen their readiness and achieve better accreditation outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Structured and Sustainable Approach to Quality Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership will involve both public and private higher education institutions, along with the units responsible for managing study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s scope. Other key stakeholders include university leaders, heads or coordinators of study programs, quality assurance units, and accreditation task forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A range of activities has been prepared, including seminars, workshops, and coordination forums; data and accreditation status mapping; self-assessment<\/em> assistance to support improvements in accreditation status; coaching clinics<\/em> and document clinics; as well as regular monitoring and evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these initiatives, the two institutions aim to foster a stronger culture of quality within higher education institutions, enhance study programs\u2019 understanding of and preparedness for LAMSAMA\u2019s accreditation system, and increase the number of study programs able to progressively and sustainably improve their accreditation outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the partnership, LAMSAMA<\/strong> will contribute by developing program frameworks and technical materials, providing speakers and subject-matter experts, delivering technical assistance and consultation, and conducting monitoring and evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, LLDIKTI Region IX<\/strong> will work with LAMSAMA to identify and determine participating higher education institutions and study programs, facilitate coordination with higher education institutions, and encourage the active involvement of institutional leaders and quality assurance units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanding the Reach of Quality Assurance Across Region IX<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LLDIKTI Region IX serves South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi<\/strong>. With this extensive regional coverage, the partnership with LAMSAMA is expected to broaden access to information, technical assistance, and capacity-building opportunities in quality assurance and accreditation for study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing of the MoU and Cooperation Agreement reaffirms the shared commitment of LAMSAMA and LLDIKTI Region IX to positioning quality assurance and accreditation as more than administrative requirements. Instead, they are to serve as integral components of a systematic and continuous process for improving the quality of higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
