This session aimed to provide an initial understanding of the major changes in the accreditation instruments, specifically aligned with the latest regulation. It follows a broader preliminary session held on April 12, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session was led by Prof. Dr. Iwan Sugihartono, M.Si.<\/strong>, Acting Chair of the LAMSAMA Accreditation Council, and was attended by LAMSAMA assessors, representatives from MIPAnet, professional associations in the natural and formal sciences, and study programs within LAMSAMA\u2019s purview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe hope this event becomes a platform for open discussion and helps broaden the perspectives of all stakeholders regarding the core substance and new direction presented in IAPS 3.0,\u201d said Prof. Iwan in his opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also noted that the development of IAPS 3.0 referred to BAN-PT Regulation No. 04 of 2025<\/strong> on standards for obtaining “Excellent” accreditation status for study programs under LAMSAMA. \u201cThis regulation forms the foundation for today\u2019s session, and LAMSAMA\u2019s newly designed instrument has already received the green light from BAN-PT for immediate implementation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof. Dr. Iwan Sugihartono, M.Si. delivering his opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Comprehensive Overhaul of the Accreditation Framework<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n IAPS 3.0 replaces the previously used IAPS 1.0 and represents a significant revision based on the 2023 ministerial regulation. According to Dr. Dra. Melania Suweni Muntini, M.T.<\/strong>, the instrument was developed through in-depth evaluations and benchmarking against both national and international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAlthough IAPS 2.0 was drafted, it was never implemented. IAPS 3.0, therefore, represents a complete overhaul\u2014more concise yet more comprehensive in structure,\u201d Dr. Melania explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The main presentation was delivered by Prof. Drs. Roto, M.Eng., Ph.D.<\/strong>, who revealed that over the past three years, LAMSAMA had processed more than 400 study program accreditations, with 53% achieving \u201cExcellent\u201d status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIAPS 3.0 adopts a more integrative approach. It reduces the structure from nine criteria and 69 indicators to just six criteria and 35 indicators, including 17 essential conditions for achieving \u2018Excellent\u2019 status,\u201d Prof. Roto elaborated. He added that one of the most notable changes is the shift from numerical scoring to a qualitative evaluation system: Excellent<\/em>, Very Good<\/em>, Good<\/em>, and Poor<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LAMSAMA has also developed five supporting documents to streamline the accreditation process: the Academic Manuscript<\/strong>, Self-Evaluation Report (LED) Guidelines<\/strong>, Field Supplements<\/strong>, Assessment Matrix<\/strong>, and Evaluation Guidelines<\/strong>. The document submission system has been upgraded for greater efficiency and ease of use for assessors and validators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cStudy programs are no longer required to submit Excel-based forms. Instead, they only need to submit a narrative report with hyperlinks to supporting documents accessible online,\u201d Prof. Roto noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In an effort to align with global quality standards, LAMSAMA is also submitting its International Standards and Guidelines (ISG)<\/strong> to the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have prepared a comprehensive self-assessment to gain international recognition, ensuring that this accreditation instrument is not only valid nationally but also globally accepted,\u201d said Dr. Melania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Dra.
